Incredibly flawed and misleading, was quite disappointed with my experience here. I know they get rid of bad reviews so if you see this before they take it down, I hope you don’t waste your money here.

My daughter died within two weeks of leaving this program. She died from a combination of methadone alcohol and an anti-seizure medication prescribed by a doctor at CASA that made the interaction with the alcohol and the methadone fatal. This small family program is all about the money and once the money was gone they were done with her. What kind of doctor would prescribe a medication that has known interactions with a drug that lots of his patients abuse? As with any experience, there are lots of great people there just like anywhere, but the overall program in my opinion is inadequate and they do not disclose situation’s that could be life-threatening. If I would’ve been able to read a review like this I would’ve never had my daughter go to CASA. Now that my daughter is dead, they have been very reluctant about releasing any records relating directly to her treatment, and I find that very disingenuous…

If you struggle with dissociation, do not consider CR for treatment. As someone with diagnosed Dissociative Identity Disorder, I was promised this facility could help me. The psychiatrist I saw here compared D.I.D. to alcoholism and suggested I work the twelve steps and get a sponsor to cure my dissociations. In addition, the clinical director told my family I have a “conscious addiction” to dissociating. Clearly she is not trauma informed and has no education regarding dissociation and should not be advising anyone on the subject. When I dissociated in front of her, she put her hands on me and was yelling at me to “stop shaking,” as my nervous system was causing me to shake. You never put your hands on a trauma patient! Not only did the safety plan I had given them ask for no one to touch me, this should have been a no brainer. When this director grabbed my forearms and firmly held them together I was triggered and did not feel safe. A few days later, I was told I needed to leave, even though I had already paid to stay longer and transition from PHP to IOP. I was pushed out the door without a sturdy plan for moving forward. I am grateful for the experiences I had with the three therapists on board, Eric, Shanelle and Diana. They are all well versed in trauma. I believe Eric is an expert in his field. I wish I had more time with them. I would strongly encourage you to look elsewhere though if you deal with dissociation on any level and BEWARE of the clinical director.

If you or someone u love have mental health issues and are frantic to find a place, just hope you dont get stuck with Maryam as your intake personnel. Our experience was so offputting and negative that we left feeling more hopeless than b4 we walked in. We were told, "I completely understand your disappointment. While your son may relate to some personality disorder symptoms, he currently lacks the tools to regulate his mood and recognize his internal motivation for treatment. I don't want to set him up to fail. I truly believe that building foundational coping skills will help him work through deeper trauma in the future." Isn't that why we seek treatment? Isn't that what this place claims to help with? Of course he was lacking the tools to regulate his mood and internal motivation. Isnt that why we seek treatment? Fortunately, we did find a treatment center that my son attended for 3 months (PHP/IOP) and although he has his work to do, to continue in his recovery (THC addiction and mental health), he now has secured a place to live, is working a part-time job and WILL continue his his studies to obtain BS degree in August. Shame on Casa Revovery for their dismissing a human being from getting the help he needed.
